STAR
Process Heat Systems LLC offers customized plastic welding school classes in both hot air hand held gas and hot gas extrusion welding in accordance with TWI
[The Welding Institute, Cambridge United Kingdom] specifications. The program is based on proven European CEN [Committee of Standardization] and DVS [German Welding Society] plastic welding standards.
As plastic welding guidelines do not exist in the USA or Canada, the AWS [American
Welding Society] recognizes the need for thermoplastic welding standards and
has formed a standards committee who has begun investigating
the European standards.
The demand for proper thermoplastic welding procedures keeps intensifying as custom fabricated plastic materials are increasingly being used in various industries. Proper welding procedures assure the fabricated or maintained structures will endure application specifications.
The courses are instructed by a Certified Welding Instructor at the school or your facility. The thermoplastic welding courses introduce attendees to common thermoplastics, hot air hand held and hot gas extrusion welding standards, welding parameters, material specifics, joint design, material preparation, equipment clarification, equipment set up procedures, hands on instructions, visual inspection and testing. Participants may decide to certify as plastic welders according to CSWIP requirements and receive official European certificate upon completion.
Steven A. Robertson, President of STAR Process Heat Systems LLC with twenty-five years experience with LEISTER Technologies,
ISO 9001 Swiss manufacturer of hot gas hand held plastic welders, hot gas extruders and industrial process
heaters states, “Plastic welding certification offers our clients the means to stay ahead of the plastic welding
standardization's that are coming to North America.”
